Welcome to Trezõr® Bridge®
Trezor Bridge is the communication interface that allows your Trezor hardware wallet to interact with your browser and desktop applications, like Trezor Suite. Without Bridge, your device cannot securely connect to web wallets or desktop environments.
Why You Need Trezor Bridge
Unlike browser extensions or plug-ins, Trezor Bridge offers a deeper level of trust and compatibility with all major platforms. It works independently of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or any browser, and allows your device to sign and verify transactions securely.
- Securely connect your device to Trezor Suite or Web Wallet
- Access signing functionality and data transfer
- Avoid browser-based security limitations
- Works silently in the background
Step 1: Download Trezor Bridge
Start by visiting the official site: https://trezor.io/bridge/
Choose the version for your OS:
- Windows (.exe)
- macOS (.dmg)
- Linux (.tar or .deb)
Step 2: Install Trezor Bridge
Follow these installation instructions:
- Double-click the downloaded file
- Run the installer and allow it to make changes to your system
- After installation, restart your browser
- Trezor Bridge will now run in the background automatically
Step 3: Connect Your Trezor
Once Trezor Bridge is running, plug in your Trezor Model T or Trezor Model One using a USB cable. Open Trezor Suite or visit wallet.trezor.io.
You will see a prompt to "Connect Device" or "Allow Trezor Bridge". Confirm this on your computer.
Step 4: Sign In & Authorize
When signing in, Trezor Bridge ensures that all authentication actions are confirmed via physical interaction on the Trezor device.
This protects you from phishing and remote attacks. Each operation must be approved on-screen.
- View addresses
- Sign transactions
- Authorize apps (e.g., Metamask via WebUSB)
Troubleshooting Tips
- Restart your browser after installation
- Clear browser cache if device is not detected
- Ensure USB cable is data-capable (not just charging)
- Use original firmware and official device
- Check for Bridge updates regularly
Advanced Usage: WebUSB Mode
If you prefer not to install Bridge, some platforms support WebUSB, allowing direct browser connection. However, Bridge is still more stable and widely supported.
Note: WebUSB is supported in Chrome and Chromium-based browsers only.
Security & Privacy Considerations
Trezor Bridge does not collect any user data. It simply passes commands from your device to Trezor Suite or the web wallet. All sensitive actions (like signing or verifying addresses) happen strictly on the hardware device.
- No telemetry
- No cloud interaction
- Fully open-source code
